Orca Conversion Update

August 17, 2016

To all TOTE Maritime Alaska Customers,

TOTE Maritime Alaska has elected to alter its program of converting the Orcas to dual fuel LNG. We will not be moving forward with the Orca re-engining scheduled to start later this year.

We are working closely with our engine manufacturer to convert our engines to dual fuel LNG while minimizing our out of service time. At this juncture, we do not have an exact date for when we will convert the Orcas to run on LNG but will keep you updated as our program planning progresses.

As a result, we will be operating a normal end of year schedule and will provide you with an updated sailing schedule by the end of the month.

TOTE Maritime Alaska remains committed to providing the reliable on-time service that we have become known for over the last 40 years. We are also committed to the environmental benefits LNG provides and look forward to converting to LNG in a manner that supports the needs of Alaskans and our customers.

As always, thank you for your business and please don’t hesitate to be in touch with me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Mike Noone
