STRENGTHENING OUR COMMUNITIES
For more than 40 years, TOTE Maritime Alaska has safely and reliably delivered goods to the Last Frontier but our involvement in Alaska is not just about delivering cargo. TOTE Maritime Alaska is deeply connected to the communities we serve and give back money, time and in-kind donations in ways that reflect our values and the ever changing needs of the community.
Fun Facts from 2016
For this first online newsletter, we thought we would share a little bit about what happened last year.
ALPAR (Alaskans for Litter Prevention and Recycling) is an organization that TOTE has supported for more than 10 years. Last year alone, TOTE Maritime provided in-kind shipping of 508 FEUS of recyclable material, moving it from Anchorage to the Lower 48 where it can be processed.
These 508 FEUs represent more than 162,500 square feet of material and waste that is able to be recycled thanks to the work of ALPAR and TOTE.
In addition to moving recyclable materials, TOTE also shipped more than 521 tons of food to the state of Alaska for the Food Bank. This supports around 300 partner food pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers and children’s programs throughout the state.
We are honored to be a part of the community involved in helping critical organizations fulfill their mission and commitment to the Alaskan communities.
