Trade Notification – 2021 Fourth of July Terminal Schedule

 

As the Fourth of July holiday approaches, TOTE will operate normally with no changes to our existing schedule. NB voyage 21109 will depart from Tacoma on Friday, July 2 and SB voyage 21108 will depart from Anchorage on Sunday, July 4. The Tacoma Terminal and Offices will be closed on Monday, July 5.

Inland Fuel Surcharge – Effective June 20, 2021

 

As of Monday (6/07/2021), the West Coast (PADD5) Diesel Fuel Price as published by the U.S. Dept. of Energy is $3.786 per gallon (please refer to the following link: (https://www.eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/).  This price level corresponds with an inland/arbitrary fuel surcharge of 34.50% as published in tariff STB TOTE 101-A and TOCT 402-A per Item 346.

Therefore, effective June 20, 2021, the inland/arbitrary fuel surcharge Item 346 shall be increased to 34.50%.    

Please note: the ocean fuel surcharge will remain as published in TOTE Maritime Alaska tariffs under Item 345.

As of Monday (5/03/2021), the West Coast (PADD5) Diesel Fuel Price as published by the U.S. Dept. of Energy is $3.664 per gallon (please refer the following link: (https://www.eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/).   This price level corresponds with an inland/arbitrary fuel surcharge of 33.0% as published in tariff STB TOTE 101-A and TOCT 402-A per Item 346.

Therefore, effective May 16, 2021 the inland/arbitrary fuel surcharge Item 346 shall remain at 33.0%.   

Please note: the ocean fuel surcharge will remain as published in TOTE Alaska tariffs under Item 345.

Trade Notification – KFF Service Ending for 2020-2021 Season

 

TOTE Alaska is suspending Keep From Freezing (KFF) service for the winter season. The last sailing will be NB voyage 21067 which departs Tacoma on Wednesday, April 22.

We will begin the process of transitioning some pools to dry equipment at that time based on customer requirements. Please remember to transition your bill of lading documents to non-KFF after April 22 unless there is a specific need for this service. If so, this need should be directly communicated to an individual in TOTE Customer Service.

Therefore, effective April 18, 2021 the inland/arbitrary fuel surcharge Item 346 shall be increased to 33.0%.

Trade Notification – Seasonal Weight Restrictions

 

The Alaska Department of Transportation has released upcoming road restrictions, effective Monday, March 29.

Please note that the restrictions could limit the allowable gross and axle weight of trailers delivering over the road to destinations outside of Anchorage. We will not inundate you with further emails for restrictions and recommend checking the Alaska DOT website for future information and updates. CENTRAL REGION

SEASONAL WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS

Issue Date: March 24, 2021

Weight restrictions are stated as a percentage of legal allowable weight and shall be applied to the maximum axle loading of 17 AAC 25.013(e).

The Central Region boundaries extend from Homer on the Sterling Highway and Seward on the Seward Highway to Mile 118 on the Glenn Highway and Mile 163 on the Parks Highway. The Dillingham and Bethel road systems are also included within the Central Region.

Bold typeface indicates new restrictions/modifications since the last public notice.

Effective Monday, March 29 at 8:00 A.M. The following State maintained roads are restricted to the following:

AREA-WIDE WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS

All State maintained paved and gravel roads in the Kenai Peninsula area (south of Portage Glacier Highway) – 100% (No overloads)

INDIVIDUAL ROAD WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS – Individual roads that vary from the Area-Wide Weight Restrictions:

The following roads are restricted to 100% of legal axle load, no overloads:

Sterling Highway from MP 167 (Sterling Hwy at Diamond Ridge Rd intersection) to end of Homer Spit.

The following roads are restricted to 75% of legal axle load, no overloads:

All State maintained paved and gravel roads in the Homer area that are south and east of Sterling Highway MP 167 (Sterling Hwy at Diamond Ridge Rd intersection).

Additional restrictions and modifications will be imposed as necessary.

Authorized Weight restrictions will only be posted on the DOT&PF Division of Measurement and Standards and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (MSCVE) webpage. Weight Restrictions posted on 511 or any other posting are for information only. The most recent published public notice will supersede any conflicting information from other sources. Public Notices can be found at: http://www.dot.alaska.gov click on “Measures & Commercial Vehicles” then under the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement tab click on “Weight Restrictions” go to the middle of the page and click on “Central Region” than open the most recent Central Region listing.

Ocean Fuel Related Surcharge Revision – Effective April 18, 2021

 

TOTE Alaska will increase its ocean fuel surcharge as published in tariff STB TOTE 101-A as follows:

Tariff Item 345 shall be increased 3% from 23.5% to 26.5% effective Sunday, April 18, 2021.  

We will continue to closely monitor fuel costs and make further adjustments to the ocean fuel surcharge as appropriate.
