Trade Notification – 2021 Fourth of July Terminal Schedule

 

As the Fourth of July holiday approaches, TOTE will operate normally with no changes to our existing schedule. NB voyage 21109 will depart from Tacoma on Friday, July 2 and SB voyage 21108 will depart from Anchorage on Sunday, July 4. The Tacoma Terminal and Offices will be closed on Monday, July 5.

Trade Notification – KFF Service Ending for 2020-2021 Season

 

TOTE Alaska is suspending Keep From Freezing (KFF) service for the winter season. The last sailing will be NB voyage 21067 which departs Tacoma on Wednesday, April 22.

We will begin the process of transitioning some pools to dry equipment at that time based on customer requirements. Please remember to transition your bill of lading documents to non-KFF after April 22 unless there is a specific need for this service. If so, this need should be directly communicated to an individual in TOTE Customer Service.

We would like to thank each and every one of you for a smooth transition in and out of this service.

Trade Notification – Seasonal Weight Restrictions

 

The Alaska Department of Transportation has released upcoming road restrictions, effective Monday, March 29.

Please note that the restrictions could limit the allowable gross and axle weight of trailers delivering over the road to destinations outside of Anchorage. We will not inundate you with further emails for restrictions and recommend checking the Alaska DOT website for future information and updates. You can also sign-up to have restriction notifications sent directly to your phone or email.

PUBLIC NOTICE

DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND PUBLIC FACILITIES

CENTRAL REGION

SEASONAL WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS

Issue Date: March 24, 2021

Weight restrictions are stated as a percentage of legal allowable weight and shall be applied to the maximum axle loading of 17 AAC 25.013(e).

The Central Region boundaries extend from Homer on the Sterling Highway and Seward on the Seward Highway to Mile 118 on the Glenn Highway and Mile 163 on the Parks Highway. The Dillingham and Bethel road systems are also included within the Central Region.

Bold typeface indicates new restrictions/modifications since the last public notice.

Effective Monday, March 29 at 8:00 A.M. The following State maintained roads are restricted to the following:

AREA-WIDE WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS

All State maintained paved and gravel roads in the Kenai Peninsula area (south of Portage Glacier Highway) – 100% (No overloads)

INDIVIDUAL ROAD WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS – Individual roads that vary from the Area-Wide Weight Restrictions:

The following roads are restricted to 100% of legal axle load, no overloads:

Sterling Highway from MP 167 (Sterling Hwy at Diamond Ridge Rd intersection) to end of Homer Spit.

The following roads are restricted to 75% of legal axle load, no overloads:

All State maintained paved and gravel roads in the Homer area that are south and east of Sterling Highway MP 167 (Sterling Hwy at Diamond Ridge Rd intersection).

Additional restrictions and modifications will be imposed as necessary.

Authorized Weight restrictions will only be posted on the DOT&PF Division of Measurement and Standards and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (MSCVE) webpage. Weight Restrictions posted on 511 or any other posting are for information only. The most recent published public notice will supersede any conflicting information from other sources. Public Notices can be found at: http://www.dot.alaska.gov click on “Measures & Commercial Vehicles” then under the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement tab click on “Weight Restrictions” go to the middle of the page and click on “Central Region” than open the most recent Central Region listing.

The Department of Public Safety and the DOT/PF Division of Measurement and Standards and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement will be enforcing these restrictions.

Trade Notification – NB Voyage 21037 Delayed Tacoma Departure

 

Due to our adjusted sailing schedule, Midnight Sun Northbound Voyage 21037 will experience a delayed Tacoma departure. The vessel will be arriving at 0700 tomorrow morning and is expected to depart for Anchorage at 1300 on Saturday.

Our best estimate at the moment is that we will have an evening work-start in Anchorage on Tuesday, March 2. We will provide an updated Anchorage work-start after we have received more information about the vessel’s progress.
