Trade Notification – Normal Vessel Operations

 

Today we are loading the Midnight Sun to head north to Alaska.

We continue to work with our partners and our customers to ensure the efficient movement of cargo throughout the supply chain, optimizing asset utilization and allowing TOTE to continue regularly scheduled service between Tacoma and Anchorage.

Many of us are on the front lines, taking extra steps to help ensure we continue to serve Alaskan communities who depend on TOTE. Thank you for your ongoing dedication and to keeping Alaska’s supply chain open.

Our gate in Tacoma has made changes to accommodate health concerns associated with the use of paperwork. We appreciate your patience and support as we continue to transition to a paperless gate.

Trade Notification – Changes to Gate Process at Tacoma Terminal

 

Due to recent developments with COVID-19, TOTE Maritime Alaska will no longer be accepting physical paperwork at the Tacoma terminal. Thank you in advance for your compliance.

Please follow these tips to ensure the smoothest possible gate transactions:

  • Please provide updates at least 45 mins prior to driver arrival. (trailer numbers, temps, KFF, Hot Stow, etc.) as well as copies of paperwork provided (BOL/Haz manifest) to the driver
  • Upon receiving hazardous approval, please wait 20 minutes prior to gate arrival
  • Drivers will arrive at the gate and will still pick up the phone to check in, however driver needs to retain paperwork while in the lanes
  • Drivers need to provide information on paperwork to longshore – booking number, trailer, as well as temp, haz, KFF, Hot Stow if applicable
  • Drivers need to advise if they will need a load or empty out
  • Drivers need to leave their paperwork in the basket in the trouble room
  • If the gate clerk needs to verify something on the paperwork, the driver will proceed to the trouble lane with retained paperwork to be shown to the Longshore and verified through the trouble room window

TOTE Maritime Alaska Continuing Twice-weekly Service to Alaska

 

TOTE Maritime Alaska is continuing with its scheduled twice weekly service to Alaska. The response to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 is a continually evolving situation and TOTE Maritime Alaska will remain committed to providing safe and reliable service to Alaska.

On Friday, March 13, TOTE Maritime Alaska announced that they are implementing measures to ensure the health and wellbeing of their employees and their ability to service customers and keep critical supply chains open and reliable. These measures include supporting social distancing efforts by encouraging employees to work from home and increasing measures to limit exposure to our vessel crews at sea.

Due to inclement weather, Midnight Sun voyage 20035 is scheduled to arrive in Anchorage on Tuesday morning for a 1100 work start.

Anchorage Terminal:

Monday, March 2

  • 1500 – All hazardous cargo must be booked and approved
  • 1500 – All hazardous waste must be in the yard
  • 1700 – All hazardous loads must be in the yard

Tuesday, March 3

  • 0800-1800 – Lanes Open

Due to inclement weather, M/V Midnight Sun has been operating off schedule. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We have worked with our vessel crew and our operations teams to update our operational schedule for an on-time arrival of MS19167 on Sunday morning, October 27.

Due to inclement weather, Midnight Sun, voyage 19160, is scheduled to arrive at the Port of Tacoma on Thursday morning for a 0700 Work Start. The following changes have been made to our operational schedule:

Tacoma Terminal:

Thursday, October 17

  • 0800 – Lanes open for trailers
  • 1300 – Lanes open for vehicles

The vessel is evaluating the ETA for voyage 19163 in Anchorage for Sunday, October 20. We will send out a notification if there is a change to the scheduled work start.

Sunday – Oct 13

  • 0800-1300 – Lanes will be closed

Please be advised that Midnight Sun, northbound voyage 19155, made up time during its journey and will now arrive in Anchorage on early Monday morning with a work start of 0300. As a result, the following changes have been made to our operational schedule:

  • 0700 – Gates open; gate remaining open during the lunch hour
  • 1700 – Gates close
