San Juan, Puerto Rico – TOTE Maritime Puerto Rico, LLC ("TOTE"), an industry leader in maritime services and a dedicated shipping provider in Puerto Rico, was once again the presenting sponsor of the Boys & Girls Clubs Puerto Rico’s (BGCPR) Youth of the Year (YoY) celebration.
The award ceremony, which was held on April 20, 2023, at DISTRITO T-Mobile, marks TOTE’s ninth year of supporting talented young students of Puerto Rico through the YoY award.
TOTE joins BGCPR to congratulate Jeshua González, from Boys & Girls Club Mayagüez, who became the new Youth of the Year 2023. The outstanding young man, who was evaluated by a jury of professional leaders and public figures alongside nine other finalists, aspires to study International Relations and Global Communication.
“TOTE's most important investment is the one we make in the community by supporting organizations that promote education and empower our youth. In Puerto Rico we have many young people who, like Jeshua, stand out for their leadership, sense of responsibility and teamwork, and who need our support to achieve their goals," said Vice President of TOTE Maritime Agency Puerto Rico, LLC, Eduardo Pagán, and who just completed his term as President of the Board of Directors of BGCPR for the past six years.
"The private sector is fundamental to organizations like the Boys and Girls Club; not only for monetary contributions, but also for the support of industry leaders who provide guidance and advice to a new generation of leaders!" he added.
TOTE Maritime Puerto Rico, LLC, President, Kevin Kendrick, joined the inspiring award ceremony which was full of family and friends of the students, coming from all over Puerto Rico.
“Investing in the communities where we live and operate is a core value at TOTE,” said Kendrick. “We are proud to continue our long-time support of the Boys & Girls Club, an organization focused on ensuring growth and development opportunities are available for the island’s youth.”
